Position Overview & Specifications
Surgical division The Trust is excited to announce the development of its general surgery department, with the expansion of our middle grade team to include two specialty doctors, clinical fellows, and a specialist doctor.
Applications are invited for the general surgery specialty doctor posts on a permanent basis.
These positions are based at the West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds.
Specialty doctor
The specialty doctor role provides an excellent opportunity to join the existing middle grade team and consultant general surgeons working in upper GI, lower GI, breast, and urology.
You will support the provision of a high-quality general surgery service across a range of areas, including but not limited to outpatient delivery (including 2 week wait appointments), elective and emergency theatres, surgical assessment unit and on-call, as well as surgical audits and longer term service developments.
The role provides an amazing opportunity to work across a wide range of settings and further develop your clinical skills.
We are looking for a person who is highly motivated and capable to assist in the management of general surgical conditions within the Trust. If you have expertise in certain procedures or wish to acquire further skills that are of benefit to the Trust, this will be actively discussed and supported within the strategic and financial constraints that currently exist.
