Position Overview & Specifications

This is a Trust Doctor (non-training) Level 2 post equivalent to ST3 and above.

Duties include -

  • Working on AMU - continuous assessment and review of new admissions and unstable patients.
  • SSW - performing ward rounds, procedures, assisting junior team members, communication with patients / family.
  • SDEC - reviewing new patients and returns.
  • AMU / 'HOT' clinic - reviews after investigations / discharge.
  • Participate in the General (Internal) Medicine on call rota.
  • Contributing to the clinical governance - audit, service improvement projects, teaching rota.
  • To participate in Continuous Medical Education (CME) and maintain a portfolio for revalidation.
  • Use specialty session to develop skills according to need - one four-hour session given per week (opportunities include medical high dependency / stroke).
  • Complete admin work / letters from clinical activity.
  • Maintain mandatory training.
